FAQ

WHAT THIS IS, AND WHAT IT IS NOT.

WHAT IS BATTLE.BAND?

It is a music television channel where the songs compete. You flip channels until something hits. If that song has no token yet, you can coin it, and from then on it fights for position on the chart.

The chart is ranked by how far each song has moved along its bonding curve, which is real money and not a vanity score.

WHY CAN'T I SEARCH FOR A SONG?

Because the hunt is the point. Discovery is channel flipping only, so an unclaimed song is something you find rather than something you look up. Being early is the reward.

The full unclaimed pool is browsable on the chart if you would rather go looking deliberately.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COIN A SONG?

One transaction does all of it: a fee splitter is created for the song, a token is launched on the launchpad with that splitter set as the fee recipient, the song is written into our registry, and your opening buy goes through.

A song can only be coined once. The registry write is permanent, so the first person to claim a song is the only one who ever can.

WHAT DO I EARN AS THE COINER?

Half of the creator fees on every trade of that song, for as long as it trades. BATTLE.BAND keeps the other half. The split is written into the song's own splitter contract when it is coined and cannot be changed afterwards, by us or by anyone.

Fees accrue on the curve and in the launchpad's escrow. Pressing CLAIM on your account page sweeps both and pays out both halves in one transaction. It is permissionless, so nobody can withhold your share.

WHAT AM I ACTUALLY BUYING?

A community token named after a song, trading on a bonding curve. It is not ownership of the music, not a royalty, not a share of anything, and it carries no endorsement from the artist or their label.

Prices can go to zero. Only put in what you are willing to lose.

WHAT IS GRADUATION?

Each curve has a target. When enough real money has been raised, the curve graduates: liquidity locks permanently and trading moves on. The progress bar on every song page measures real money raised, excluding the curve's virtual seed reserve.

WHERE DOES THE PRICE CHART COME FROM?

The curve's own trade logs, read straight off the chain. Each point is the curve's price immediately after a real trade, so the last point on the chart and the figure at the top of the page are the same number.

There is no indexer in between, which means nothing on the chart can be stale or invented. It also means a song with no trades has no chart yet, rather than a made up line.

WHICH CHAIN, AND WHAT DOES IT COST?

Robinhood Chain. You need a wallet with ETH on it. Coining a song costs the launchpad's launch fee plus whatever opening buy you choose plus gas; trading costs the launchpad's 1% and gas.

BATTLE.BAND charges nothing on top. Our revenue is the half of creator fees the coiner does not take.
